Doing a degree abroad can be a tough decision for many international students, but Loughborough made that transition a lot easier. I was impressed by the environment at Loughborough University from the first interview I had with my supervisors.

How have you found the transition to life in the UK?

Doing a degree abroad can be a tough decision for many international students, including me. You will be living on your own, starting in a whole new environment in a different language and culture, but Loughborough made that transition a lot easier.

Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University?

Loughborough University is one of the most highly regarded universities in the UK. It attracts high calibre academic staff and high potential PhD students across the globe to conduct research together in a friendly and supportive environment. I was impressed by the environment at Loughborough University from the first interview I had with my supervisors. Even though it was the first time I met them, I felt as though I was talking to someone in my family or one of my friends. This is the main reason I chose to study at Loughborough over any other university. My experiences at Loughborough University so far have been excellent, the staff are very friendly, and the facilities are very convenient. I feel like I have made the right decision to choose Loughborough over any other university.

What can you get involved in on campus?

The University has a very good students union and they are actively working with the university to ensure that we will receive the best experiences during our time at Loughborough University. There are many social events and a large variety of clubs and societies where you can meet new friends who share the same interests and hobbies.

The University also prepare us very well to apply for jobs after graduation by providing outstanding services such as careers events and CV consultation clinics.

What advice would you give to future international students?

If you are considering coming to the UK to study, I would say 'ranking' is important, but it is not everything. There are many other factors that you might need to take into consideration such as environment, cost, facilities, and so on. By putting all these factors together, you will be able to find the university that is the best fit to you. But for me, Loughborough fits me very well and there is no single moment that I regret joining Loughborough. I can firmly say Loughborough is my second home.
