My year in Loughborough has been one of the best years of my life. The diversity, resources and quality of teaching staff are top class. I have seen several ground-breaking achievements by students here which have inspired me.

Why did you decide to study at Loughborough?

Loughborough has the second-oldest Construction Management course and some of the best academics in the construction industry. This was a significant factor in making the decision to come to Loughborough.

How would you describe adjusting to being at Loughborough?

Having been away from academia for a few years practising, I thought things were going to be tough but the support and skills of the teaching staff made it a very comfortable transition. The library and sporting facilities are of great benefit and most importantly the community feeling at Loughborough made studying very efficient.

What is your aim upon leaving Loughborough and how has Loughborough helped you in this?

I aspire to make a change in the construction industry in Ghana and Loughborough has set me up with a diverse skill set and knowledge for this challenge. The mix of modules and the content has really shaped my view of the global construction industry and how to drive change with people being the driving force. I have been exploring the integration of BIM and Life Cycle Assessment for optimized sustainable design in Ghana as a contribution to the country’s efforts to meet the UN SDG 11 and 13.

Have you enjoyed your time at Loughborough so far?

What has been your greatest achievement at Loughborough?

My greatest achievement during my time at Loughborough University was getting the opportunity to become a course representative because this allowed me to shape my ability to represent the views of others.
