Please outline your project to someone with no prior knowledge of your discipline?
My research is targeting the high cost of sustainable construction and reducing waste.
What were you doing before you started your PhD?
I worked as a construction project supervisor in Jordan.

What do you enjoy the most about studying a PhD with us?
I enjoy experiencing the multiple perspectives from our discussions in the research hub, as there is a real mixture and variety of students.
Describe what it is like to study a PhD?
The sound of a PhD degree is terrifying initially, but as my research progresses it does become easier. The difficulty I found was the setting of my own deadlines, this is something you have to manage yourself.
Why did you decide to undertake a PhD in your area?
I am a Civil Engineer and wanted to enhance my career options by doing a PhD.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would see myself working in one of the best construction companies in the UK.
If you could give one piece of advice to a future PhD student, what would it be?
It’s a life-changing experience so just enjoy the ups and downs of your PhD journey.
