Painting and drawing classes

This broad and varied art class is suitable for beginners and returning learners. Over the course, topics will include drawing from observation, working in a variety of wet and dry media and lino printing.

*** UPDATE MARCH 2021*** We are expecting our painting and drawing classes to resume in October 2021 but this will be subject to the restrictions and guidance in place at that time. Updates will be added here in late summer.

When

Tuesday or Thursday evening, 7-9pm. The course runs for 10 weeks in the autumn and spring term each academic year. Please note: there will not be a class running in the autumn term 2020.

Where

LU Arts Project Space, 1st Floor, Edward Barnsley Building (enter via the Cope Auditorium entrance).

Tutor – Jo Sheppard

Following an Art and Design Foundation in North Lincolnshire, Jo undertook a Degree in Fine Art at Coventry University, graduating in 1991. She trained to become a teacher of art in 1996 and taught in secondary schools until 2002, before taking the plunge to work as a professional artist. Alongside her own studio practice painting she continues to teach adults, run workshops in schools and work as a participatory artist with mental health service users.

Jo exhibits frequently in group shows and as a solo artist. She is an active member of the Loughborough based art group ArtSpace and the Leicestershire Society of Artists.
