We send 15% more students on engineering placements than any other UK university (HESA UG Student Record 2016/17: Engineering and Technology), emphasising our unrivalled links with industry. All students are given the opportunity to undertake an industrial placement year, with recent placement students undertaking positions at a variety of different companies.
Our graduates have a fantastic employment rate
100% of our graduates were in employment or further study within six months of graduating, with 98% of those serving in managerial, professional or graduate level roles (DLHE, 2017 graduates). The average starting salary of our graduates is £29,000 (DLHE, 2017 graduates).*
You'll have access to our great facilities
The School houses its own design studio and computer laboratory. Our large open-plan laboratory includes concrete, geotechnics, strength of materials, hydraulics, structures, surveying, public health and building services engineering laboratories, along with support workshops.
