How to connect my device to the VPN

Android, Linux and Chrome OS Users

Please consult your platform's Application Store to download the client. Support for Android devices is available from the PC Clinic and Service Desk to enable connectivity to wireless/VPN.

The Cisco Secure Client can be installed on:

  • Android
  • ChromeOS
  • Linux

After installing the client users should configure it to connect to vpn.lboro.ac.uk and enter their normal Loughborough University username and password when prompted. After clicking on Connect you will need to respond to the multi-factor authentication notification on their mobile device to complete the login process.

Linux Users

Please use either

  • Cisco Secure Client (recommended)
  • OpenConnect SSL VPN

After installing the appropriate client, users should configure the software to connect to vpn.lboro.ac.uk and enter their normal Loughborough University username and password when prompted. We do not offer any additional support beyond this.

Version 9.12 of OpenConnect is incompatible with the Loughborough University VPN service resulting in regular disconnections. We recommend users either upgrade to the latest release (v9.12-201-gf17fe20d at time of writing) or use the official Cisco client.
