Windows 11 Staff Managed Service – system update and action required

Windows 11 Staff Managed Desktop Service.

On 18 and 19 November, IT Services will roll out an important update to all computers and devices using the Windows 11 Staff Managed Desktop Service.

This update is essential to ensure your computer continues to receive the latest security patches correctly through our Microsoft Intune system.

Installation schedule:

  • Tuesday 18 November – from 9:30am: Update will be deployed to IT Services.
  • Wednesday 19 November – from 9:30am: Update will be deployed to all remaining Windows 11 Staff Managed Service devices.

No action is required during the installation, and it should not interrupt your work.

Important action required:

To ensure the updated settings are fully applied, we kindly ask all staff using a Windows 11 Staff Managed Service device to:

  • Restart or fully shut down their device on Friday 21 November, if possible.
  • If you are working remotely, please make sure to connect to the University VPN earlier in the day before restarting, so your device can receive the updated policy.

These steps will help keep your device secure and up to date.
