Description of the Works
Replacement of End-of-Life Transformer.
On Sunday 29th March 2026 Estates will be replacing the Life Expired Transformer located in the Campus Living Building. This will require an electrical shutdown to the following buildings.
- Campus Living Building (119)
- Medical Centre (048)
- Bridgemen Building (206)
- Estates Yard (051)
- Main boiler house. This will affect the delivery of hot water to the Village.
This work will require University Road to be closed from the Margaret Keay/University Road crossroad adjacent to the Bridgeman Building and just before the turning for the Estates Yard and Spinney Hill entrance/exit (these areas will be accessible via alternate routes). See Image.
Timescale
Although works will be taking place leading up to the shutdown in the building the electricity will be turned off from 0800hrs through to 2000Hrs on Sunday 29 March 2026.
