Wireless Communications Research Group
As the world becomes more dependent on wireless communications, understanding electromagnetic waves and the part they play in 5G networks, driverless cars and space applications, becomes increasingly important.
The Wireless Communications Group are responsible for improving wireless communications through the development of novel antenna designs and radio-frequency devices.
We provide communication solutions to a wide range of industries including space, defence, wireless infrastructure, mobile communications and built and natural environments.
Previous developments include circularly polarised antennas for handsets, reconfigurable antennas, wearable technology embedded into defence uniforms, textile connectors, novel metamaterials for base station antennas and 3D-printed lenses.
