IAS Friends and Fellows Coffee Morning

On Tuesday 3rd November we will be hosting an IAS Friends and Fellows Coffee Morning, where we will welcome current IAS Residential Fellow Professor Sergey Gavrilyuk.

Coffee mornings are also an opportunity for Loughborough colleagues to come along and discuss with the IAS team, potential applications for funding before submitting. To ensure understanding of, and alignment with, the IAS.

Professor Sergey Gavrilyuk, Aix-Marseille University

Professor Gavrilyuk is a Full Professor at Aix-Marseille University and an internationally recognised expert in the mathematical modelling of solid and fluid mechanics. His research has led to major advances in the areas of multiphase and interfacial flows, dispersive wave phenomena, shock waves, and hypervelocity impact phenomena. He has authored more than 100 research papers and 2 books. A highly-cited author, one of his most influential works is the paper co-authored with R. Saurel, “Mathematical and numerical modeling of two-phase compressible flows with micro-inertia”, J. Comput. Phys. (2002), which has received more than 236 citations.

During their IAS Fellowship, Professor Gavrilyuk will be collaborating with Dr Ricardo Barros and Dr Karima Khusnutdinova from the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
