Further information on Fellowships at the IAS
We welcome three types of Fellows to the IAS:
IAS Visiting Fellows - Through our Open Programme scheme, LU colleagues can apply to bring international researchers at the cutting edge of their discipline to either campus for collaborative research visits, usually lasting at least one week. These visits should provide a lasting legacy, through, for example, the development of new relationships and avenues for future collaborative research projects, co-publications and funding applications.
IAS Residential Fellows - IAS Residential Fellowships enable outstanding international academics and research-focused artists, writers, public intellectuals, and policy makers, to apply directly to the IAS for a month-long residency within the scholarly community of Loughborough University and its Institute of Advanced Studies.
Externally Awarded Fellowships - In addition to the IAS Fellowship opportunities there are also a number of externally awarded fellowship schemes you could apply to, to be held at Loughborough University. As the holder of an externally awarded Fellowship, you would be affiliated with the IAS and be an integral part of our vibrant international research community. These Fellowships are targeted at international applicants – if you are based at Loughborough these are also excellent ways to strengthen collaborations and build networks.
