We will also welcome the first Fulbright Scholarship Fellow for the year, Professor Erik P. Bucy, hosted by Professor James Stanyer, based in Communication and Media.

Dr Daniel H. Karney - Ohio University
Dr Daniel H. Karney is an Associate Professor of Economics at Ohio University in Athens, OH (USA). Dr Karney specializes in energy and environmental policy. Dr Karney earned his M.A. (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 2004-2007, Dr Karney worked at ICF International in Fairfax, VA as an energy and environmental policy consultant after graduating with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Grinnell College (Grinnell, IA USA). As an expert, Dr Karney has been quoted in The Columbus Dispatch and Columbus Business First newspapers, as well as the Cleveland.com news site. Dr Karney has published academic articles in several peer-reviewed journals including Energy Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Contemporary Economic Policy, Economic Modelling, and Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economics.
Professor Erik P. Bucy - Texas Tech University
Erik P. Bucy is the Marshall and Sharleen Formby Regents Professor of Strategic Communication in the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University, where he teaches and conducts research on misinformation, news literacy, visual and nonverbal communication, and public opinion about the press. Bucy received his PhD in Mass Communication from the University of Maryland, MS in Journalism from USC-Annenberg, and BA in English Literature from UCLA. He is a native of Los Angeles and began his career in the newspaper industry, writing for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, Los Angeles Times, California Journal, and Orange County Register, among other news outlets.
