Jiaying is a full-time postgraduate researcher in the Department of Geography at Loughborough University.

She holds a MSc Urban Economic Development from the University College London, and BSc Economics from Southwest University. During her previous study, Jiaying showed strong interests in the urban form and regional development. She studied the regional integration issues in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle during her undergraduate studies and the ICT polycentric development of Pearl River Delta Region in China during her MSc studies.

As part of her interest in urban forms, her PhD research examines polycentricity urban regions (PUR) and Greater Bay Area in China, to meet development priorities and achieve a more balanced growth in the region.
