Alexandre Christoyannopoulos

Reader in Politics and International Relations

Alexandre is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pacifism and Nonviolence, a new, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal. His interests include political violence, pacifism and nonviolence studies, anarchist studies, political thought, politics and religion, and critical security studies.

Ali Bilgic

Professor in International Relations and Security

Ali is is conducting research at Loughborough as a leading expert in international migration in the Secure and Resilient Societies Global Challenge. He is the author of three well-received books - including his latest co-authored publication, Positive Security: Collective Life in an Uncertain World.

Christina Oelgemoller

Senior Lecturer in International Relations

Christina's research on governance, migration, including forced migration, missing persons and violence is geopolitical in character and draws upon Critical International Theory. She is currently member of the editorial team of the Journal of Common Market Studies.

Duncan currently researches the changing geopolitics of the Arctic and the implications of climate change for the future character of military operations and war.

Guilia

Giulia Piccolino

Senior Lecturer in Politics & International Relations

Guilia is Associate Research Fellow at German Institute of Global and Area Studies. Her recent publications look at the problem of building a legitimate political order and a functioning state after a civil war terminated in the victory of one of the warring parties.

Guy Aitchison

Guy Aitchison

Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Studies

Dr Aitchison is a political theorist with interests in political resistance, human rights, democratic theory and migration. He is currently managing ‘Starving for Dignity: Re-framing the Ethics of Hunger Strikes’, a two-year funded research project.
