Description of the Works
1 of the 2no. heating boilers located in the Performance Centre Roof Plant Room ‘Box100’ that serves Sir David Wallace has failed and requires replacement due to obsolete parts being required. The existing failed boiler will be isolated, decommissioned, dismantled and removed. The 2nd boiler and heating system will remain operational during the works and it is not anticipated that heating will be affected by the works.
Due to the roof plant room installation location, the new boiler will be delivered to Clyde Williams Plant room where Remeha manufacturer engineers will dismantle and strip down the heat exchanger sections to allow them to be carried to the roof in small manageable sections, therefore a contractor presence will be expected to the entrance and stairwells leading to the roof on Monday 2nd November, they will then re-build the boiler in situ.
The new boiler will be re-connected to the existing heating and gas pipework supply using the existing valve sets. A new twin wall flue will be installed as part of the works.
