Ideal for any self-catered students living on or off campus so you can have discounted and nutritional hot meals whilst on campus.  

You can also top up 5 day catering plans by having a discounted brunch and a hot meal at the weekends as well.

It is your choice how many to buy, when you buy them and when you wish to use them throughout each academic year. You can pay using cash, debit or credit cards. The more units you buy the higher the discount!

Please note units expire at the end of each academic year.

Frequently asked questions

  1. How does it work?

    You buy meal units which are loaded onto your student ID card, which you can then use in halls on campus.

  2. Where Can I Buy The Meal Units?

    Anytime online via the campus card cashless portal or call into the Parcels and Card office located in the Herbert Manzoni building.

  3. How long will it take for funds to go onto the card?

    If the transaction is done at the Parcels and Card office (in the Herbert Manzoni building), the credit will go straight onto your card, if purchased online please allow 2 hours for the transaction to be processed. If there are any problems processing your online transaction (which may occur with some card payments) it will be the next working day before your transaction can be processed. Once your online transaction has been completed you will need to download the funds onto your card which can be done at the Parcels and Cards office or the student accommodation centre.


  4. Who Can Buy The Units?

    Students or parents. Be organised and buy at the start of each term, or buy as you wish to help you through those busy periods such as revision or when you have lots of deadlines to meet.

  5. Can The Units Be Used For Anything Else?

    diners+ units can only be used for food, they cannot be exchanged for anything else but these meals. It saves you carrying round cash, and enables you to buy a hot meal particularly on those busy days!

  7. What Will I Get For A diners+ meal unit?

    We have carefully selected a varied and nutritional menu choice which can vary from day to day. Each meal unit entitles you to a two course meal. You can if you wish purchase extra items with cash or use the cash+ facility on your card.

  8. What If I lose my card?

    Report the loss of your ID card in person to the Parcels and Card office located in the Herbert Manzoni Building.

    A replacement card will be issued. There is a charge of £8.00 to replace lost or damaged cards.

    Any units remaining on the card will be transferred to the new card.

    It is your responsibility to look after your card, you will require it often, so take care of it and keep it safe.

  9. Dates diners+ is available

    The diners+ units can be used throughout the year until 28th June 2019.
    After this date the dining halls close for the summer vacation. 

    There is no refund for any unused units after this date.
