Applying for accommodation as a postgraduate student

If you’ve received a conditional or unconditional offer to study as a postgraduate student in 2026/27, you can book your accommodation on the Loughborough campus from 18 February.

Postgraduate students can reserve accommodation from February, including those holding a conditional offer, in selected halls offering 50-week contracts. This option is available until 1 August 2026.

After 1 August, rooms can only be reserved once your offer is unconditional.

If you are starting your postgraduate course in October 2026 and would like to apply for our halls of residence, we’ll guide you through each step.

Research students arriving in December, April or July should contact us directly about availability.

Step two - Reserve your accommodation

Postgraduate students can reserve rooms from February. Applicants holding a conditional offer may reserve accommodation in selected 50-week postgraduate halls until 1 August. After 1 August, only applicants with an unconditional offer will be able to make a reservation.

When you select a room it will be held for 15 minutes for you to complete the reservation. If you do not complete the reservation in that time, it will be released, and you will need to make a new selection.

Reserve your accommodation

Step three - Agree your accommodation contract

Once you have reserved a room online, you will have 3 days to review and accept the offer.

You will need to enter your login username and password that you created when you registered to accept your contract online. At this point you will be entering into a legally binding agreement with the University - your landlord.

You will be sent an email confirming your contract via the email address you specified on your University application.

It's important that you

  • Confirm your room by accepting the terms and conditions and online contract.
  • Complete the online induction and book your arrival slot (available from late August).
