We are here to support you the whole time you are living in University halls of residence.

Key card

Your University ID card provides you with access to your block (excluding Unite halls). Be sure to lock the outer door at night and always lock your room when you are out, taking your keys/ID card with you.

If you lock yourself out of your room contact your Hall Manager or Sub-Wardens/Warden if out of office hours. If you lose your keys then please report this to the Hall Manager who will issue you with a replacement key set for which a charge will apply.

Please remember to hand in your key to your Hall Manager/Reception at the end of your licence term or you will be charged. Replacement ID cards are issued from the Parcels and Card Office for £7.95. Do not punch a hole in your ID card and attach it to your keys, it will stop it from working. Card holders and lanyards are available from the Parcels and Card Office.


At Loughborough, we offer a housekeeping service throughout our halls of residence.


  • Your bedroom and en-suite facility will be cleaned once a fortnight in University halls
  • No bedroom cleaning is provided in Unite halls (William Morris, Harry French and The Holt)
  • No cleaning is provided in the self-contained one bedroom flats and studios.

Communal Areas

  • Kitchens and corridors are cleaned on a weekly basis (*every other week in Unite en-suite flats)
  • Communal bathrooms and toilet facilities will be cleaned a minimum of three times a week (University Halls)
  • Communal bathrooms and toilet facilities are cleaned on a weekly basis (Unite Halls)

We ask you to...

To help us deliver this service to a high standard we ask that you:

  • Clean up all spillages
  • Keep refrigerators clean and tidy
  • Wash up and put away your crockery and cutlery
  • On your cleaning day, leave your room tidy

You will be advised of your regular cleaning day by your Hall Manager.

Heating off

Please note, adjustment to the various heating systems may take a few days either side of these dates. The times are also subject to variation in the event of unusually cold or hot weather.

Warden team

Wardens and Sub-wardens are available in each University Hall to help ensure the hall provides a supportive and enjoyable environment for all the student residents.

If you have any problems, either arising from within the hall or connected with any other aspect of being a student at Loughborough, please contact your warden or sub-warden who will either deal directly with the issue or refer you to someone who can help. Any discussions you have with a Warden or Sub-warden will be in confidence.

Hall fees

For details of the University billing process for tuition, accommodation and other costs, please visit the Finance Office Student Fees page.

Your first instalment will be due for payment by 16 November 2018. You should receive a statement via email by Thursday 1 November detailing your outstanding fees.

Please note:

  • If you have elected to pay for Tuition and Accommodtion Fees via Direct Debit, payments will be deducted from your nominated bank account in three termly instalments: namely 16 November 2018, 25 January 2019 and 17 May 2019.
  • Should you wish to pay your Licence Fees in full, please refer to your Student Contract for The total fees payable for the year, or refer to our Hall Fees Guide.
