Art and Design Foundation students
We offer those studying our Art and Design Foundation Studies course the opportunity to apply for a place in University halls of residence.
If you require accommodation in University halls of residence, take a look at all the halls we have available to see all the different options.
We will email you your application number and details on how to apply. If you have not registered an email address with the School of Design and Creative Arts, please contact the School.
Select your room preferences
Once your accommodation account is registered, you can select up to five room preferences based on your preferred hall, room type, catering option, and area of campus.
Take a look at our halls before making your choices - all have great facilities and a welcoming student community. Remember, listing multiple preferences gives you the best chance of getting a room that suits your needs.

Await your room offer
Once you’ve submitted your preferences, our team will work to match you with a room that best fits your choices. While we can’t guarantee that everyone will receive an offer in halls, our aim is to accommodate as many students on campus as possible.
If we’re unable to offer you a room in University halls, we’ll help you secure accommodation through one of our University-approved off-campus providers by referral.
You’ll receive an email notification once your room offer is ready to view in your accommodation account.
Move into your hall
Once you’ve accepted your room offer and completed any required payments, it’s time to get ready for arrival!
Your check-in date is shown in your accommodation contract, so please plan your journey accordingly. Before you arrive, you’ll need to complete your online induction and book your arrival slot through the Accommodation Hub - this helps us make your check-in as smooth as possible.
To get ready, take a look at our guides on what to pack and arrival information. When you arrive, our hall teams and student helpers will be there to welcome you, help you settle in, and answer any questions you might have.
Next year
If you progress with your studies at Loughborough through our School of Design and Creative Arts undergraduate programme, halls accommodation is guaranteed for firm-choice students. You will be required to apply for accommodation from May as an undergraduate student.
While most students will apply to return to halls as returning students, you will be applying for accommodation as a first-year undergraduate.
