Geometry

Geometry is a central pillar of modern science, with applications ranging from within mathematics and theoretical science to geometric design and security.

The IAS thematic programme on Geometry inaugurates the newly formed Centre for Geometry and its Applications.

The Geometry Theme explores modern areas of research through a variety of schemes. We have hosted a number of activities ranging from workshops in applied and industrial geometry to specialised research focused meetings. The IAS and the Centre for Geometry has welcomed a cluster of renowned geometers to collaborate with, and showcase and enhance Loughborough’s research activities. An exhibition of Geometry took place in January 2019 in a collaborative effort involving the Centre for Geometry, the Design School and the School of Arts, which was curated at the Martin Hall Exhibition Space.

Theme lead: Dr Hamid Ahmadinezhad, School of Science
