Evidence you'll need to submit for CAS

If you’re applying for a visa, we’ve listed some useful information below on what information we will need from you before we are able to issue a CAS. We’ve split this information into entry of study to make it easier for you to find the information which is relevant for you.

Undergraduate students

The CAS will be issued by the Admissions Office to you once you have:

  • Made Loughborough University your firm choice through UCAS
  • Satisfied all the conditions of your offer
  • Obtained an ATAS certificate if required
  • Provided the University with a scanned copy of your current passport via email to admissions@lboro.ac.uk
  • Entered your current passport number on UCAS Track.

If you have a conditional offer, you need to send us the results of your examination and English language qualification before we can issue a CAS.

If you are booked onto a Pre-Sessional English Language Course that is shorter than three months, and have met all other conditions of your offer, you may be issued with a CAS which covers both your pre-sessional course and your undergraduate degree programme.

You can contact admissions@lboro.ac.uk for more information.

Postgraduate taught students

The CAS will be issued by the Admissions Office to you once you have:

  • Satisfied all the conditions of your offer
  • Obtained an ATAS certificate if required
  • Accepted your offer through the Application Portal
  • Provided the University with your passport number

A CAS may be issued earlier than three months prior to the commencement of your studies, but you will not be able to use it to apply for your visa before this three month period.

Please note that if you are booked onto a Pre-Sessional English Language Course that is shorter than three months and have met all other conditions of your offer, you may be issued with a CAS which covers both your pre-sessional course and your postgraduate degree programme.

You can contact pgtaught@lboro.ac.uk for more information.

Postgraduate research students

The CAS will be issued by the Research Student Office to you, once you have:

  • Satisfied all the conditions of your offer and accepted it.
  • Obtained an ATAS certificate if required.
  • Provided a letter confirming your financial sponsor (if applicable)
  • Provided us with your passport number

A CAS will be issued no earlier than three months prior to the commencement of your studies.

Please note that if you are booked onto a Pre-Sessional English Language Course that is shorter than three months and have met all other conditions of your offer, you may be issued a CAS which covers both your pre-sessional course and your postgraduate study.
