Winner: Loughborough Basketball Program

The partnership between Loughborough University and Leicester Riders is a long-standing one, stretching back to 1967 when the basketball club was formed by a group of students out of Victory Hall, the only specialist indoor sporting facility on campus at the time!

The men’s 1st team won both BUCS Premier and the National Championship, with the Men’s 2nd team winning the Midlands 1A and BUCS National Trophy. The Women’s 1st team also won both the BUCS Premier and National Championship making finals day at Nottingham University a clean sweep.

SDC Operational Staff

This team are the driving workforce of almost every sporting facility on campus. They work from early hours of the morning, until late in the evening to provide each sporting facility with everything they should need and more to be able to take park in their sport.

This team work in the background of every sporting event that takes place on campus, setting up, maintaining cleanliness, providing the smooth running and setting down of each event.

Triathlon Performance Program

The Triathlon Performance Programme, led by Gavin and Ian is the one programme that works 'hand in glove' with the National Governing Body, sharing pool space, coaching, support service staff and expert knowledge as well as resources when on overseas camps.

With regular meetings between them and BTF staff they have created a clear and coherent joined up pathway from AU level through to world class programme, and have agreed joint selection criteria within each of these areas.
