Every September, the Vice-Chancellor hosts an annual awards ceremony to recognise, honour and celebrate members of the University community who have achieved amazing things. These awards are for all staff members who work across the many varied areas of the University.

This is our second year of the Vice-Chancellor’s awards, and they will recognise the ways our staff both as individuals and in teams have demonstrated their commitment to the University aims and values, especially around togetherness.

Anybody can make a nomination for either an individual or a team. There are 17 awards across six categories. Colleagues can submit a nomination via the online form anytime from now until Wednesday 7 June 2023. Please ensure that when making a nomination, consideration is given to the hints and tips detailed below.

The Awards event will be hosted at lunch time on 15 September at Holywell Conference Centre. All finalists will be invited to attend the event.

Award categories

The award categories are designed to deliberately reflect the University strategy and enable all staff members to find suitable categories that are appropriate to the work they do.

It is recognised that there are many endeavours by staff across the University, that enable success, support staff and students, and make a significant contribution to the delivery of the University’s strategy.

If you have any doubts about which category a team or individual endeavour should fall under, please chat with your manager or contact Anne Wilkinson.

How to write a nomination Submit a nomination

We couldn’t achieve what we do without the hard work, dedication, and creativity of our staff. This enables us to achieve our vision of being an internationally engaged research‐intensive university that delivers meaningful impact and keeps students at our heart.

It is important to me that we take the opportunity through my annual awards, to acknowledge and highlight the most outstanding work of our teams and individuals from across the whole university. I encourage you to nominate those colleagues that you recognise as making a substantial contribution. I look forward to reading the nominations and seeing the finalists at this years’ event, in September’
