Harvey is a PhD researcher based in the Online Civic Culture Centre researching how social class is presented, signalled, and perceived on social networking sites, with a particular focus on behavioural responses to perceptions of social class in these environments. He graduated with a BA Politics from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Social Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. 

Harvey is a political psychologist interested in the psychology of class, the effect of individual differences on political behaviours, and the philosophy of science. In that vein, his previous work has explored how individual differences - particularly Authoritarianism - affect political participation.
