On Wednesday 3rd May we will be hosting an IAS Friends and Fellows Coffee Morning, where we will be joined by our IAS Visiting Fellow on the Open Programme, Professor Nada Shabout, who is hosted by Dr Kathryn Brown within Communication and Media.

Professor Nada Shabout - University of North Texas

Professor Shabout is the Regents Professor of Art History and Coordinator of the Contemporary Arab and Muslim Cultural Studies Initiative at the University of North Texas, USA. She is the founding president of the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art from the Arab World, Iran and Turkey and project director of the Modern Art Iraq Archive. Professor Shabout is the author of Modern Arab Art: Formation of Arab Aesthetics, University of Florida Press (2007); co-editor with Salwa Mikdadi of New Vision: Arab Art in the 21st Century (2009); and co-editor with Anneka Lenssen and Sarah Rogers of Modern Art in the Arab World: Primary Documents (2018). Professor Shabout was the Project Advisor for the Saudi National Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale.
