Festival Closing Event and Panel Discussion

Transitions: Campus Culture

The final event of the Transitions Festival asks three questions: what might we change about campus culture here at Loughborough? How might we effect this change? And, how might this transition serve as a template for other spaces? Beginning with a panel discussion led by VC Nick Jennings regarding his call to all men to take responsibility for changing misogynistic elements of campus culture, we then broaden our scope to explore the role the University might play in enacting this and other forms of transition, as highlighted by the Festival Fellows.

Panel Members -

Vice Chancellor - Nick Jennings (Loughborough University)
IAS Visiting Fellow - Jane Chin Davidson (California State University, San Bernardino)
IAS Visiting Fellow - Zachary DuBois (Department of Anthropology, University of Oregon)
IAS Visiting Fellow - Amanda Ngabirano (Makerere University, Uganda)
IAS Residential Fellow - Alpesh Patel (Contemporary Art and Theory, Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University)
Associate Chief Operating Officer and Director of Student Services - Manuel Alonso (Loughborough University)
EDI Committee Member - Peter Shaddock (Loughborough University)
IT Applications Support Manager and Trans & Non-Binary Lead for the LGBT+ Staff Network - David Wilson (Loughborough University)

The panel will be convened and chaired by the Transitions Festival Leads: Rachael Grew, Hilary Robinson, Ines Varela-Silva and Gemma Witcomb.
