Manufacturing for medicine & healthcare

There are significant manufacturing challenges within the sectors of medicine and healthcare.

Significant cross-disciplinary research at Loughborough is focused within this theme, including regenerative medicine, next generation prosthetics and orthotics, wearable bio-robotics and manufacture of personalised bone scaffolds.

The Centre for Biological Engineering (CBE) is a flagship within this theme, with a core aim to build new capability and capacity in biological engineering. The Centre brings together world-class researchers in the fields of healthcare engineering and cell technologies, all working within the translational space between scientific discovery and products, processes, techniques and therapies.
