Entry requirements for students from Thailand
If you are a student from Thailand who wants to study here at Loughborough University, please take a look at the entry requirements listed below.
Students taking the Certificate of Secondary Education/Maw 6 will need to complete a suitable Foundation Year.
Loughborough University has its own Foundation Year for high-calibre international students who have successfully completed 12 years of school education. Alternatively, please contact the International Office to check if the Foundation Programme that you are considering taking is acceptable for entry.
Students with A Level or IB qualifications will be considered for direct entry to undergraduate degree courses. Please see the undergraduate prospectus for specific course requirements.
All students must also achieve the University’s English language requirements.
Normally a GPA of at least 3.0 from a Thai university or a good second class honours degree from a UK university would be expected. Applicants with other professional qualifications or an advanced diploma and appropriate work experience may also be considered. Potential applicants should see the Postgraduate Prospectus for further details of appropriate subject requirements and any acceptable alternative entry requirements. Some schools may accept concessions from higher ranking institutions. Please contact the International Office for more information.
A good Bachelor degree or a Masters degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university of appropriate standing will normally be required.
Candidates must also achieve the University's English language requirements. For most courses international students are expected to achieve IELTS 6.5.
Pre-sessional English Language tuition is available for those applicants whose scores in English Language fall slightly below that normally expected for entry. This is offered as a 5, 10, 20 or 30 week course depending on the level of English obtained. See our Academic Language Support Service for more information.
