Academic Staff Probation Monitoring Group B

Academic staff are usually appointed to a three-year probation period. Probation periods start on one of four fixed dates through the year, namely 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October. However, if the appointment is for a fixed term of three years or less, the probation period will commence from the date of appointment.
