Text description

The diagram shows university committees without associated sub-committees or groups, but includes information about each Committee chair.

There are five Senate committees:

  • Research and innovation committee (chaired by the PVC (R&I),
  • Learning and teaching committee (chaired by the PVC (E&SE),
  • Arts and cultural events committee (chaired by a VC/Senate Nominee),
  • Prizes committee (chaired by a VC/Senate Nominee), and
  • Student discipline committee (chaired by a VC/Senate Nominee).

Senate reports to Council, which in turn has three committees:

  • Audit and risk committee (chaired by a Lay Member of Council),
  • Governance and nominations committee (chaired by the Senior Pro-Chancellor), and
  • Remuneration committee (also chaired by the Senior Pro-Chancellor).

Additionally, there are eight joint committees, each reporting to both Senate and Council:

  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Governance committee (chaired by the Chief Operating Officer),
  • Finance committee (chaired by the Vice-Chancellor),
  • Health, safety and environment committee (chaired by the Provost),
  • Human resources committee (chaired by the Chief Operating Officer),
  • Infrastructure committee (chaired by the Chief Operating Officer),
  • Sport committee (chaired by PVC (Sport)),
  • Strategic Portfolio and Resources committee (chaired by the Provost), and
  • University honours committee (chaired by the Vice-Chancellor).

Lay members of Council sit on Council committees and all joint committees except University honours and Operations committees.
