Loughborough Rugby - 100 Years of History

Your opportunity to contribute to documenting the history of this great club.

Calling All Loughborough Rugby Alumni & Friends

In celebration of our 100th year and with the support of Alumnus, Chris O’Callaghan, Loughborough Students Rugby Football Club have been successful in securing Heritage Lottery Funding to write the official history of the club.

LSRFC has a distinguished and pre-eminent standing in British rugby and an unrivalled history of sporting success.  Since being established the Club has won the universities’ rugby championship title (UAU and BUSA) an unparalleled 27 times, more than any other university and in the process, produced 65 men’s full international capped players from every Home Nation, 17 of who were also British and Irish Lions, and a further 41 women’s full international capped players. In addition to players, numerous Loughborough Students Rugby alumni have gone on to hold International coaching roles or work in senior levels of rugby administration.

Over the years, efforts have been made to identify and record the club’s history but it remains scattered and incomplete.  On this special occasion of our Centenary, now is the time to officially research and record our history, and we need your help to do this!

Do you have any stories, photos or memorabilia of your time as part of the Club that you are happy to share?  If so, it would be hugely appreciated if you could take the time to upload this via our special web-based form (link below).  The project team will then use this to record, write and digitise the official history of Loughborough Students RFC.

We are also looking for people willing to tell their story in person - would you be happy to be interviewed?  If so, please also head to the form page and fill in your details.

Once complete we look forward to sharing our full history with you all!
