Taekwondo at Loughborough offers classes for both beginners and experienced members as well as freestyle training sessions; so there is something available for all abilities.
Athletic Union Club
Our club practice ITF style Taekwondo but welcome people from all martial arts backgrounds and absolute beginners as well. We have four training sessions available per week, and one of these sessions is our squad training session. This is optional for those who want to represent their university club at local and national competitions.
We encourage you to take part in competitions throughout the year including the GTUK National Championships, University Championships, and Scottish International Championships. Competition is optional as we want you to feel completely comfortable in what you are doing so you will never be forced to compete.
The club is an excellent way to make friends and meet new people. We hold regular socials outside of training which is a great way for you to get to know one another. We are also involved in numerous charity events which is a great way for us to give something back through Taekwondo.
Coaching and volunteering
Within most sports there are a range of sports volunteering roles and opportunities for you to get involved and gain experience in. This ranges from coaching and officiating to events, marketing and media and sport science support.
