Study led by Dr Andy Pledger commissioned by The Somerset Levels Drainage Board

A study led by Dr Andy Pledger has been commissioned by The Somerset Levels Drainage Board, on the effects of water injection dredging on River Parrett fish community characteristics and behaviours.

Acoustic cameras, rather than previous capture methods, will be used to speciate and size fish and track their movements before and during a Van Oord dredging operation.

This study, worth £24,217, falls under the umbrella of the Vaccinating the NEXUS project. Prof Paul Wood and Dr Dapeng Yu are also involved, alongside Andy Hindes and Jake Reeds, colleagues at Fishtrack Ltd and the EA.
