SkyEarth success in first round of Young Entrepreneur Scheme competition

“SkyEarth” have successfully won the first round of the YES (Young Entrepreneur Scheme) competition.

“SkyEarth” have successfully won the first round of the YES (Young Entrepreneur Scheme) competition, with their team consisting of Geography and Environment PhD students Keechy Akkerman (CEO), Tessa Driessen (Finance Director), Richard Mason (Head of R&D) and Maud van Soest (Market and Media Director).

YES is a series of innovative competitions developed to raise awareness of the commercialisation of ideas among PhD students & post-docs. SkyEarth is promoting a lightweight green roof substrate to help with urban greening. Their success invites them to pitch their idea again at the Royal Society in London in December.
