Dr Jon Millett, as part of his university fellowship, successfully ran a New Phytologist research workshop on the traits of carnivorous plants at Harvard Forest, a department of Harvard University, United States. The workshop was funded by the New Phytologist Trust.

Attendees visited from the USA and Europe, including Bristol University, Harvard University, Penn State, University of Mississippi, University of Maryland, Fresno State, plus Loughborough University PhD students Ciara Sugrue and Ellen Goddard. The workshop was extremely successful, generating a lot of enthusiasm. The output will be a manuscript for New Phytologist, and a special edition of Plants, People and Planet.
