The award is an academic sponsorship to help support Oscar’s MSc student project titled "Effects of water injection dredging on fish community characteristics and behaviours: the case of the River Parrett, Somerset Levels, UK".

The project links to the larger EPSRC/IDB-funded project and is a collaborative effort between Loughborough University’s Dr Andrew Pledger, Prof Paul Wood and Dr Dapeng Yu, Fishtrack Ltd (Andy Hindes), the Somerset Levels Drainage Board Consortium, and Van Oord.

The grant includes a £750 ‘student award’ for Oscar, with the remaining money going towards project costs. Dredging began this week (pictured), where development can be followed via our Twitter @LboroGeog.
