Lecturers in the English department are brilliant; whether I've had personal or academic issues, I feel comfortable discussing things through with them.

The thing that I loved the most about my course was the variety. My modules varied from poetry to web design and therefore you could develop a multitude of transferable skills.

My joint honours degree lent itself to a wealth of new skills. I think I am more of a kinaesthetic learner, so the practical side of the course massively helped me build my skills as a coach.

I have had the opportunity to work for Lamplight Press, which is the UK’s first student-led publishing house, and it has been amazing. It has given me the chance to gain invaluable experience which I can take forward and build on in my future career.

My favourite module was Radicals and Reactionaries: Writing Women in the 1890s. The module was varied in both subject and texts, every week you learnt something new about the female experience.

My favourite project by far was my dissertation and I loved the whole process. I was given the creative freedom to write what I wanted. I did my project on ‘Evolving representations of disabilities in Bollywood cinema 1960-2020’.
