Inspiring Minds: Post 16 taster days

Inspiring Minds is Loughborough University's series of academic taster lectures for Post-16 students. Students will have the opportunity to come to campus and experience university lectures, discovering what it would like to study their chosen subject at university level.
The events allow students to enhance current studies and experience studying their chosen subject area at undergraduate level through a range of topical taster sessions, including lectures and workshops, delivered by our academic teaching staff. Ultimately, the events aim to help students make informed decisions about their higher education options, by exploring subject areas in greater depth and developing an understanding of university level study.
Attendees can also learn more about applying to higher education and university life with informative sessions covering a range of topics such as UCAS applications, personal statements and student finance.
Furthermore, attending these events can make a great addition to a student’s personal statement, helping them to stand out as part of the university application process.
Individual students, as well as school and college groups, are welcome. The events are free of charge to attend.
Our subject areas have been split into separate events. More information and detail for each event can be found below.
Please note that the primary purpose of these events is not to provide detailed information on the specific content of our degree courses, but to allow students the opportunity to experience university level study through a range of undergraduate level taster sessions. Course information can be found using our online prospectus and brochures will be provided to take away with this information.
