Mathematics Learning Support Centre (MLSC)

We offer free one-to-one drop-in help and bookable online help and resources for students of all disciplines who wish to improve their knowledge of mathematics or statistics, as well as providing study space in the Schofield Building.

A Statistics Advisory Service is available for postgraduate and final-year undergraduate project students.

Improving your mathematic skills before you arrive

To help you prepare for study, we have developed online maths training so you can revise and practice your current maths skills and feel confident that you are ready to tackle the maths you will meet on your degree programme. You can access the programme online.

Mathematics support

We offer free mathematics support for all students delivered by our experienced mathematics lecturers. This is available both in-person and remotely.

For our in-person service you do not need to make an appointment. Simply visit the centre during term time between 11am-1pm and 2-4pm for drop-in support.

We also offer remote one-to-one support with members of our staff. Tutors are available Monday to Friday from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm.

Statistics support

Free statistics support is available at our Mathematics Learning Support Centre in the Schofield Building and remotely. One-to-one drop-in help is offered by experienced statistics lecturers.

Final year project students and postgraduate students might wish to use the Statistics Advisory Service, which offers bookable half-hour appointments.
