Dr Jennifer Nutkins

Jennifer is the Academic Registrar and Head of Governance.

After completing a BA in Natural Sciences and PhD in Chemistry at Cambridge University, Jennifer joined the University of Warwick as an administrator, initially providing advice on research funding. Over 9 years at Warwick, she had roles including Secretary to the Faculty of Science, assistant to the Registrar, responsibility for undergraduate admissions and validated programmes, and for postgraduate student administration.

Jennifer took up her present post leading the Academic Registry at Loughborough in 2001. The Registry co-ordinates all aspects of student and programme administration at the University including academic quality and standards and support for our community of over 1,000 Doctoral Researchers. This work includes overall responsibility for compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. immigration law) as well as student rights and responsibilities (appeals, academic misconduct etc.).

Jennifer also co-ordinates the University’s approach to both institutional governance and information governance on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer. She is involved in a range of projects and project governance work related to development of the University’s business processes and corporate information systems.
