The School of Social Sciences and Humanities achieves success in recent National Student Survey

National Student Survey 2023

The school of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved some excellent results from the National Student Survey (NSS)* across all Departments.

Some individual course highlights in the results are: 

  • 100% of Criminology BSc students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 100% of English with Creative Writing BA students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 97% of Geography BSc students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 96% of Sociology BSc students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 96% of Geography and Management BSc students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 95% of English BA students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 95% of Geography and Sport Science students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 95% of Geography BA students were positive about the teaching on their course. 
  • 95% of History and Politics BA students were positive about the teaching on their course. 

Nearly half a million students across the UK are invited to take part in the National Student Survey (NSS) every year. The NSS provides students the opportunity to give honest feedback about what it has been like to study their course at university or college. It is published every year and is a rich and influential source of information about higher education.
