Paul received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018 for his longstanding contribution to the printing and packaging industry.
Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the printing and packaging industry at CEO and Managing Director level. His career spans time spent in operations, accounting, sales and marketing before reaching CEO level, so he has a solid understanding of these industries.
Paul completed his MBA at Loughborough whilst still running his business and graduated with a distinction. It was during this MBA, and in particular the research project, that he decided to sell the business.
He travelled across the globe to conduct research and used the tools provided by the MBA to reach the conclusion to sell. He exited the business in 1998 which proved a wise decision. There were 12,000 firms in these sectors in 2000 and consolidation has taken place leaving just 5,000 remaining.
After a brief sabbatical, Paul formed Richmond Capital Partners, a specialist mergers and acquisitions (M&A) firm specialising in the printing and packaging industry in 2000. Richmond is now the clear market leader and highly respected in the industry. He has completed over 200 transactions as lead adviser.
Paul has written numerous academic papers, press releases for various media, and presented at several conferences, seminars and universities.
He is a Chartered Marketer, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing.
Paul also serves on the Loughborough Business School Strategic Advisory Board.
