Callum Angus
IAS Summit: Queer Ecology and The Supernatural
Independent author
Callum Angus is a trans author writing about climate and nature at a time when the truths of both climate change and trans life are denied at the highest levels of government worldwide.
His books include the story collection A Natural History of Transition (Metonymy Press 2021), the nonfiction chapbook CATARACT (Fonograf Editions 2024), and STREAM: Life in Flux, forthcoming from Curbstone Books in 2027. Since 2019 he has been the publisher of the online literary journal with smoke and mold, which publishes nature writing, broadly defined, by trans and Two-Spirit writers. Cal has taught and lectured at universities and independent organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and now helms the newly-launched teaching and publishing ecosystem celiumlit.net. He lives and writes between two rivers in Portland, Oregon.
During their IAS Fellowship Callum will be collaborating with Dr Carina Brand from the School of Design and Creative Arts.
