Dr Lucy Piggott

IAS Spotlight: Women in Sport

Dr Lucy Piggott is Associate Professor in sociology of sport at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her research is broadly focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion in and through sport, with a particular focus on the organisational context.
This has included commissioned research in partnership with national and international sport organisations to combine research with action. Lucy has published her work across a range of international journals and texts, and in 2022 co-edited the book Gender Equity in UK Sport Leadership and Governance. Alongside her research, Lucy has worked with organisations and projects aiming to improve gender inclusion in sport leadership, including the Anita White Foundation (AWF), the Women's Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA), and the Women's Sport Leadership Academy for High Performance Coaches (WSLA HPC).
During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Piggott will be collaborating with Dr Verity Postlethwaite from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.
