Searching for Humanity in the Forest of Abstractions

IAS Guest Speaker Professor Sergei Gepshtein delivers a seminar on their research - 

The design disciplines often fail to connect with the sciences of perception and behavior because each mistakes its own abstractions for reality itself. The talk considers how their different ways of seeing might provoke and enrich one another without reduction, while keeping in view what is ultimately at stake: a person in a place.

Arrivals from 11:45 am for a 12:00 noon start. For those joining in-person, lunch will be served after the seminar from 1:00pm.
