Take part in our research

CLiMB frequently runs research trials involving individuals or organisations.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for:

HOPE4NCDs

Are you of African or Caribbean heritage, aged 40 and above, and living in Greater Manchester or Leicestershire?

We’re looking for individuals or groups who, despite facing challenges such as:

  • Demanding work schedules
  • Financial responsibilities to self and family
  • Visa or migration-related issues
  • Health conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes

…have made intentional efforts to eat healthily and stay physically active (e.g., running, walking, jogging, skipping, swimming, dancing, Pilates, football, etc.) to support their well-being and have seen meaningful results.

Even if you haven’t faced these specific challenges, but you’re consistently taking action through diet and physical activity to:

  • Feel good & look good
  • Live a healthy, long life
  • Travel & enjoy later years without significant support
  • Enjoy the company & accomplishments of children/grandchildren

we’d love to hear your story too!

Participants will receive refreshments during the discussion and a £30 voucher as a thank-you for their time.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, please get in touch — your journey could inspire others!

To participate, contact Charity by email C.A.Aienobe-Asekharen@lboro.ac.uk or call +44 1509 226231

The SHARE study: addressing weight regain

Many people take part in weight management programmes and manage to lose weight, but most put this weight back on over time. To help people better manage their weight, we need to understand what programmes are available to help people stop putting the weight back on after they have lost it and to find out the type of help people want and need.

The PRE-WELL Study

We are investigating if losing weight before having surgery improves surgical outcomes and helps patients keep the weight off afterwards.

Take part in a study to increase your physical activity!

We are exploring a new approach called SnacktivityTM which encourages people to do small 'snacks' of activity through the day.

If you would like to take part or find out more information, please visit the trial website hosted by our research partners at the University of Birmingham.
