Keeping you connected

You need to make sure you can access all the essential tools and systems you would normally use in the office and know where to go should you have any problems.

Working from home IT essentials

This page provides more information on the tools that are available to you, including useful instructional videos for setting them up. This includes guidance on using the VPN which will give you secure access to the University’s online services from off campus, such as Agresso, LUSI, iTrent and the group workspaces.

PLEASE NOTE: You only need to connect to the VPN when using these applications, you do not need to be connected for email and Cisco Jabber.

IT support with Cisco Jabber

Cisco Jabber is an instant messenger tool and integrated phone application. It allows you to keep in contact with your colleagues through instant messages and replaces your usual desk phone by allowing you to make and take calls through your laptop/PC. This useful page will give you guidance on what you can do through Jabber and how to work it. All University laptops/PCs with Windows 10 are automatically installed with Cisco Jabber.
