Supporting Black Excellence in STEM event

The School of Science has collaborated with Black Excellence UK on a project to create video and poster profiles of black scientists.

Over the past year, there has been growing discussion in the media of the failure of UK universities in supporting black students and staff.

The School of Science has collaborated with Black Excellence UK on a project to create video and poster profiles of black scientists. This work aims to raise the profile of black people in STEM and increase awareness of the difficulties and barriers they face.

This event will launch the poster resources, with a talk from Black Excellence founder and Loughborough alumni Dr Deji Akiwowo and a panel session with a selection of black UK scientists about improving visibility, representation, support and outcomes.

The event is free to attend, however booking is required. Register your place.
