16.00-16.30 | Tea, coffe and cake with poster displays of Black UK Scientists posters created from the Black Excellence Project |
16.30-16.45 | Talk by Dr. Deji Akiwowo, Founder of Black Excellence, about the joint project with LU SOS on Black UK Scientists. |
16.45-17.45 | Panel discussion with some of the scientists profiled in the project about their experiences as Black scientists in the UK and about the barriers Black scientists face and how these may be overcome, and how we can better support the Black community in UK STEM as well as Black students and staff here at Loughborough. |
17.45-18.00 | Wrap up by Dr. Hunsicker, Director for Equality and Diversity, School of Science |
