Open Mic Music Night Co-Ordinator 2021/22

Applications now open to organise our open mic music nights next year.

Do you love MUSIC and would like to gain valuable event management skills? Would you like to organise a night that provides a platform for student musicians to perform to an audience? If the answer is yes then you could be the next Open Mic Music Night Co-ordinator!

Open Mic Music Night is our live music night in the students' union (formerly known as Acoustic Night), which presents the best of student musicians and songwriters from a wide range of genres. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and organised student to be the new Open Mic Music Night Co-ordinator for 2021/22. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery and promotion of two events in the autumn term (2021) and spring term (2022). They will receive organisational support from the LU Arts team. 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in event management, marketing and arts administration.

The role is open to all students (UG and PG) from the East Midlands and London campus.* You can apply individually or to share the role with one other. You don’t need any prior experience but what you do need to demonstrate is lots of enthusiasm for the role and ideas for how you would take it forward and ensure that it is a success.

The successful candidate will receive a fee of £400 to organise the two events.

* London students would need to travel to Loughborough to host the two events. The cost of travel would be covered by LU Arts.
